Family-Focused Organization Needed for Family Trainings and Family Stipend Payments

Description
The EHDI-MS (Early Hearing Detection and Intervention – Mississippi) Program is seeking applicants with a Family-Focused Organization to support family engagement and advocacy through the development and delivery of targeted training and stipend management services during the Fall of 2025. As part of this contract, FAAMS will develop, implement, and provide related parent support for five virtual training modules (1.5–2 hours each) on advocacy topics critical to families of children who are deaf or hard of hearing. These sessions will be scheduled at times most convenient for families and will cover the following topics: Advocating 101: What Is Advocacy and Why Does It Matter? Advocating for Your Child With Family and Friends Advocating for Your Child’s Education From Birth to 21 Advocating With Your Child’s Medical Team and Related Systems Advocating for Policy Changes to Help Your Child In addition, FAAMS will develop and implement a stipend management system specific to EHDI families who participate in training activities. Families participating in EHDI-MS Program meetings, activities, and events will receive reimbursement through FAAMS for their time and engagement. Reimbursements will follow a standardized rate structure based on the length and type of participation. This partnership will enhance the capacity of families to advocate effectively for their children, strengthen family-professional collaboration, and ensure that families are supported and recognized as active participants in the EHDI-MS system of care.
