Deaf or Hard of Hearing Family-Focused Organization for Two Virtual Professional Development Opportunities
Mississippi Department of Health / Genetic Screening
Description
The EHDI-MS (Early Hearing Detection and Intervention – Mississippi) Program is seeking to contract with a Deaf or Hard of Hearing Family-Focused Organization to provide two virtual professional development sessions for professionals who work with deaf or hard of hearing (DHH) children and their families. These sessions are intended to enhance the capacity of service providers across Mississippi by deepening their understanding of the experiences, challenges, and needs of families navigating hearing loss. The proposed sessions will focus on key topics such as advocacy, family engagement and culturally and linguistically responsive care. Each session will be interactive, rooted in evidence-based practices, and aligned with The CARE Project’s mission of promoting emotional support and empowerment for families. This partnership aims to advance the EHDI-MS Program’s goals of ensuring early identification and support for children who are DHH by equipping professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to foster strong family-professional partnerships and improve long-term outcomes.
