Northeast Lake Munson Septic to Sewer Project

Leon County is seeking the services of a qualified contractor to perform Septic to Sewer conversion in Northeast Lake Munson Area. The project is located in the Yons Lakeside Estates and Idlewild neighborhoods, just south of Capital Circle SW and West of Crawfordville Road (State Road 319), which is located within Leon County, Tallahassee, Florida. The project total area is ±36 acres. The general scope of services for the work will include, but not limited to furnishing of all labor, equipment and materials for construction of two pump stations, grinder pumps, installation of new gravity sewer system and associated service lines with cleanouts, force mains, concrete manholes along the centerline of the existing street, pump station connection to the existing City of Tallahassee 42” sewer line at Capital Circle SW, roadway reconstruction or restoration, and other improvements as outlined in the plans. Also, performing residential sanitary sewer lateral service connections using 4-inch PVC throughout the limits of the project area. Upon connecting these new sewers to residences, the existing septic tanks shall be pumped out, crushed, or collapsed, and abandoned per F.A.C. Chapter 64E-6.011 Work includes well abandonment, unless property owner elects to keep well for landscaping purposes only. Wells to remain shall be disconnected from municipal system. Plans includes locations for new City of Tallahassee water main, services, valves, fire hydrants, and appurtenances as required. All existing road structure that is removed for sewer lines shall be replaced and the road surfaces restored by reconstruction or resurfacing. All disturbed land shall be re-graded, sodded and watered to establish growth. Work includes coordination with City Utilities, permit agencies, testing labs, etc. All work shall be performed in accordance with the construction plans & specification developed by George & Associates Consulting Engineers, Inc. A detailed listing of pay items and quantities to be completed for this Project is provided on the Bid form Sheets in the Proposal The primary contractor or the subcontractor doing the work shall be licensed by the State of Florida as a Licensed Underground Utility and Excavation Contractor. It is the intention of the County to award this bid based on total project cost to the lowest responsible and responsive vendor.
