Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System

Volusia County is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to explore cost-effective Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions that can deliver maximum value to our residents and taxpayers. Our current ERP system is well functioning. However, the County is currently faced with the decision to make a major upgrade to our current ERP system that will devote significant financial and human capital toward the upgrade. As a matter of due diligence, and to ensure that residents and taxpayers are getting the best value for the resources invested, the County is interested in exploring market options for ERP solutions. Specifically, the purposes of this RFI is: Identify potential ERP solutions that offer strong value for taxpayer dollars, balancing functionality with cost-effectiveness. Assess the long-term cost implications of different ERP solutions, including initial implementation costs, ongoing maintenance, and potential return on investment. Assess how realistic interested firms are in estimating the number of hours necessary to implement a new ERP solution, in both County was well as firm required hours. This RFI is for information and planning purposes only. It does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request does not commit Volusia County to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the County is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondents are advised that Volusia County will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. The information gathered through this RFI will be crucial in our efforts to make informed, fiscally responsible decisions about choosing to pursue an upgrade of our current ERP system or implementing a new ERP system. Our ultimate aim is to ensure that any investment in technology translates directly into improved services while maintaining fiscal responsibility to our constituents.
