Advisory and Project Management Services for ERP System Selection and Implementation

The City of Monterey (“City”) is seeking proposals from qualified firms or individuals to conduct a needs assessment for an anticipated ERP replacement, draft a request for proposal for the ERP replacement, and undertake certain client-side project management and technical services during implementation of the new ERP system. The City of Monterey is a charter city that operates under the Council-Manager form of government. The Mayor and City Council are responsible for establishing policy and providing direction to the City Manager . The current population is approximately 30,000. The City is located approximately 85 miles south of San Francisco. The City employs approximately 450 FTE’s and provides a wide range of services to its residents and visitors. The City has the following departments: Finance, Human Resources, City Manager’s Office, City Attorney Office, Community Development, Parks and Recreation, Public Works, Police, and Fire. The City’s current financial software is comprised of multiple disparate systems. The City uses Tyler Technologies’ Eden for financials, Simpler Systems for reporting, and other systems to collect payments or issue local licenses. While the systems each serve their individual purpose, the City is now looking to explore new solutions which may permit the City to consolidate applications to increase efficiencies or provide an open system architecture that permits interfacing to other internal and external systems.
