SP2575 - SMDOT Charging Infrastructure Project Phases 2-4

The City of Santa Monica is inviting Statements of Qualifications (Proposals) from qualified persons or firms interested in for the charging infrastructure upgrades in the Department of Transportation’s yard located at 1620 6th Street, Santa Monica CA, 90401. The Charging Infrastructure Project (Phases 2–4) aims to expand and enhance electric vehicle (EV) charging capabilities at the existing bus maintenance and operations facility. The project scope includes the following: Installation of Charging Equipment: Deployment of thirty-two (32) DC fast-charging cabinets Employee Parking EV Charging: Installation of six (6) Level 2 charging stations Electrical and Utility Infrastructure Overhead Gantry Structures: Construction of steel-framed gantries to support overhead-mounted charging dispensers and connectors. These structures will also accommodate photovoltaic (solar) systems, site lighting, new security cameras, and telecom infrastructure across the bus yard Site Improvements Phased construction in close coordination with the City to support ongoing bus maintenance and operations This Project represents a critical investment in the electrification of public transportation and supports the City’s sustainability and carbon reduction goals.
