Columbia Fire Station Radio Design

The Pierarra House is located at 10915 North Airport Road, Columbia. The site is adjacent next to Columbia Airport on one side and then a mobile home park on the other. This two-story home and airport hangar was constructed in 1966 as a residential home. The home and hangar are roughly 7,184 sq.ft. and is a wood frame construction. The County purchased this facility December 4, 2001, with the intent of renting the house out for office space or as a training site for County Departments. The house has been mostly vacant the past 20 years except for the occasional use by the Sheriff’s Office for training activities. The County is currently working with 4Creeks Architects on a design to repurpose this house into a working fire station. One of the needed elements of this project is the development of a radio system for this building. Attached are the design plans for the facility. As you can see from the plans, we have designated a radio closet area on both the upper and lower floors of this facility.
