Design-Build Services for Fire-Rescue Station #11 Request for Qualifications (RFQ)

The City of Norfolk (“Owner”) is requesting Statements of Qualifications (“SOQs”) from interested general contractors, construction management companies, design-build teams, and/or architect-engineers firm that have experience in the design-build construction of fire-rescue stations and/or similar type facilities. From the responses received, the Owner intends to select a qualified Design-Builder to provide turn-key design and construction services for the Fire-Rescue Station #11. The project includes the construction of an approximately 14,000 sq. ft. fire-rescue station located on vacant property bordered on three (3) sides by Lafayette Boulevard, Argonne Avenue and Lens Avenue. The new station will replace the current Fire Station #11 located on Verdun Avenue. The building will include Administrative Offices, Lobby, Dayrooms, Kitchen/Dining, Storage, Apparatus Bays, Decontamination, Workshop, Mechanical Room, Canteen Area, Laundry, PT space, Berthing Area, Toilets/Showers, Fitness Room and Watch Room. Site work will include connection of water, sewer, power, and other utilities as necessary, landscaping, parking and installation of concrete walkways to provide access. Work is to be substantially complete within 18 months from Notice to Proceed. The total estimated cost of the design and construction is approximately $5,000,000.
