Enterprise Online Ordering Application

The City of Santa Monica seeks to further its strategic procurement initiatives by simplifying the way it purchases from contracted and non-contracted vendors via its online ordering application, while enabling the tools for internal end users to control spending and improve socio-economic and sustainability metrics. One of the objectives is for the City to empower small, local, and diverse vendors by allowing them to get digitized and access the government market for the first time. Therefore, the selected vendor’s service offerings and experience around this area are paramount to this engagement. Currently, the City experiences the following deficiencies with its current online ordering system and practices: • Deficient number of vendors with e-catalogs. • Absence of intelligent filters to optimize purchases. • Lack of technical assistance to both buyers and vendors. • Delivery issues with delivery locations. • Failure to track orders’ status in real-time. • Insufficient data about City’s procurement performance.
