Daytona Beach International Airport Runway 25R Runway Safety Area (RSA) / Runway Object Free Area (ROFA) Improvements

County of Volusia / Airport

Description

This project will include re-grading the surface to support the occasional passage of aircraft. Another element of the project is a large drainpipe that traverses the RSA diagonally. The age of this pipe is unknown, however, based on field observations the pipe has likely reached the end of its service life. Depressions were found above this pipe that suggest the pipe has failed, and the soil above has begun to erode. This project will include the removal and replacement of the drainpipe. The grades above the pipe will be corrected and regraded to current RSA standards.
