Daytona Beach International Airport Rescue and Firefighting Access Road Improvements

To assure prompt response of airport emergency vehicles, including Aircraft Rescue Firefighting Facility (ARFF) equipment, the Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) is undertaking a program to improve access to the airfield from the existing ARFF Facility. The program includes the construction of a 25-foot wide bituminous concrete roadway for ARFF vehicles. The scope of work includes necessary related site preparation elements included clearing/stripping of topsoil, pavement demolition, erosion protection, grading and embankment, lime rock base construction, bituminous concrete pavement construction, initial pavement marking, signage, and site restoration. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the project-specific construction safety and phasing plan. This project is subject to date-certain completion obligations due to grant funding requirements. All work must be completed and accepted, and the project closed out no later than 15 May 2024.
