Next Generation Transit Strategy for the SACOG Region

Through this RFQ, SACOG is seeking a consultanteam to analyze and recommend strategies for developing a more robust public transportation and mobility system in the SACOG region, given current disruptions and advances in technology. The framework strategy will be an element of a larger multi-modal vision for future transportation priorities in the region that emphasize cost-effective, or “lean”, transportation investments that are innovative and offer strong performance benefits. The contract for the Next Generation Transit Strategy will be an agreement between SACOG and the consultant, with funding and contract administration to be provided by SACOG. The consultant will invoice SACOG for services rendered and SACOG will compensate the consultant for these services as set forth in the agreement. Based on the transit challenges that are specific and unique to our six county region, we are seeking a consultant team that can help us articulate a vision for next generation transit and a roadmap to help us get there. The initial contract will cover the first phase of work. A subsequent contract amendment for the second phase of work will be considered by the board after the first phase deliverables are evaluated. SACOG is looking for three main deliverables: Phase One ($30,000): 1. Analysis of Future Trends, Challenges and Opportunities that Will Impact Public Transit 2. Regional Vision Statement, Definition, and Strategy for Next Generation Transit Phase Two (up to $70,000): 3. Recommended Regional Strategies for Specific Focus Areas
