South 12th Ave Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) Retrofit
City of Tucson / Water Department
Description
The City of Tucson Storm to Shade program is requesting bids for the GSI green stormwater infrastructure retrofit of the existing curb extensions along S 12th Ave between Drexel Rd. and Irvington Rd. This includes the removal of asphalt, construction of new curbing and repair of existing curbing, excavation for water harvesting basins, installation of plant and rock materials, installation of irrigation system, installation of pavement marking and other object markers and all associated permitting and traffic control. Once the retrofit is complete, traffic calming features will be transformed from grey to green infrastructure. This will beautify the area, add much needed native vegetation to the corridor including shade trees, and help in the continued efforts of calming traffic and enhancing bicycle and pedestrian safety. The City intends to utilize a grant awarded by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to fund the project. Therefore, Davis Bacon Provisions, DBE, and EPA General Terms and Conditions are applicable to the project, per Attachments C, E, and H.
