Turnkey Demand Response Transportation Services

The City of Santa Monica, (referred to hereafter as “the City”) is inviting proposals from contractors interested in providing turnkey demand-response transportation services for an initial term of two (2) years, with three (3) options for renewal of one (1) year each, to be exercised at the City’s sole discretion. The demand-response transportation services are to operate and support the City’s Mobility On-Demand Every Day (MODE) program, a public transit service for seniors and people with disabilities residing in Santa Monica. [Option] The City will also accept proposals to provide MODE-like demand response service beyond the existing service provided under the MODE program guidelines. This could include an expansion of the MODE program, demand response service to the general public, to a different service area, or on other days and times of the week. While there are no explicit plans for demand response service expansion at this time, it is the intention of this project that the services be scalable and adaptable to changing demand conditions.
