Management Compensation Study

The San Mateo County Human Resources Department is soliciting proposals from qualified firms or individuals to conduct a compensation study to be completed no later than September 30, 2024, of approximately 200+ management and attorney classifications. The project will include (A) a base salary survey of up to eleven (11) comparable Bay Area public agencies in order to establish market data for each of these classifications; (B) analysis of the County’s salaries comparative to the market data obtained; (C) internal comparison of similar classifications and identification of potential salary compressions; (D) research into the management benefits offered by the comparable agencies and highlighting, if any management perks that are innovative and uncommon; (E) preparation and submission of a report of recommendations; and (F) perform additional research and follow-up in order to respond to department and/or employee feedback of the survey findings.
