ACUTE AND CHRONIC TOXICITY TESTING

Description
The City of Palo Alto, located about 30 miles south of San Francisco, operates a regional advanced wastewater treatment facility. The City is seeking quotations from qualified analytical laboratories for conducting Whole Effluent Toxicity tests on our Final Effluent using the most sensitive species listed in the NPDES Permit Order #CA003783, currently the fathead minnow. The species maybe updated to Mytilus galloprovincialis, mussel, with the new permit issuance scheduled for late 2024. Routine testing, according to our NPDES permit #CA003783 consists of one event a quarter. Accelerated monitoring will be required along with Toxicity Reduction Evaluation (TRE) and possibly Toxicity Identification Evaluation (TIE) analysis if a toxic unit limit is triggered. We are looking for a laboratory that can provide good quality data, along with exceptional consulting services . The consulting services will include all TRE/TIE analysis, conducting the screening phase study for our next permit cycle and any guidance for interpretation of our reports and analysis.
