Federal Legislative Services

Through this Request for Proposals (RFP), SBCAG is seeking proposals of a qualified and experienced firm to provide Federal legislative advocacy and lobbying Services in Washington, D.C. The legislative services guide SBCAG with creating a strategic legislative program. The goal of the program is to secure state and federal discretionary funding and influence public policy to benefit high priority transportation. projects and programs in Santa Barbara County and protect the interests of SBCAG and its member jurisdictions. The legislative program is supported by Santa Barbara County's Road Repair, Traffic Relief, and Transportation Safety Measure (referred to as Measure A) approved by voters in November 2008. Measure A calls for investments in three program categories. Each program category will receive a percentage share of sales tax revenues, currently estimated at $1.050 billion (in 2008 dollars) over 30 years. The Measure A Strategic Plan calls for a legislative program that aggressively seeks state and federal funds to successfully implement projects and programs identified by voters.
