Grand Canal Maintenance Dredging Project - ARPA Funded

This project is being undertaken in response to infilling occurring in the Grand Canal area, the proposed Grand Canal Maintenance Dredging Project has been designed to maintain navigation from Pass-A-Grille Inlet into Grand Canal. The proposed Grand Canal Dredge Channel was aligned based on current bathymetry and seagrass beds aiming to provide continuous navigation connecting Grand Canal with Pass-A-Grill Federal Navigation Channel while avoiding impacts to seagrass. The Grand Canal Dredge Channel will be maintained to -11.5 ft NAVD with a 1 ft over dredge allowance to -12.5 ft NAVD. The 150-ft wide channel plus 1:3 side slopes covers 15.5 acres and contains approximately 13,000 cy within the channel template. Placement of the dredge will consist of placing on Pass-a-Grille beach, within the permitted beach template.
