Description

The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources capable of providing a Mobile Embalming Unit (MEU). The primary purpose of the MEU is to deliver a fully self-contained, rapidly deployable embalming capability to support mortuary affairs operations. The MEU is a critical asset supporting the Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations (AFMAO) global mission. It ensures the Department of War maintains the capability to provide immediate, dignified care and preparation of fallen service members in austere, forward-deployed, or geographically separated environments where permanent mortuary facilities are unavailable. Potential vendors must demonstrate the capability to manufacture, assemble, or provide a mobile unit that meets the following essential features: Unit Configuration: A 1-station, fully kitted mobile embalming workspace. Environmental Controls: HVAC and ventilation systems that are fully compliant with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Defense (DoD) standards for mortuary environments. Operational Modes: The system must possess the ability to operate in two distinct configurations: Self-supported: Utilizing an onboard generator, fresh water tanks, and wastewater storage. Externally supported: Capable of connecting to standard municipal utilities (power, water, and sewage hook-ups). Container Specifications: Housed within a ruggedized 20-foot ISO CONEX container. Transportability: Engineered for rapid and easy transportability across air, sea, and land logistics networks. Integrated Equipment: Must include a mortuary lift equipped with an integrated scale. Interested parties that possess the capabilities to meet these requirements are requested to submit a capability package. Responses should be concise and must specifically address the following: Corporate Information: Company Name and Address. CAGE Code and Unique Entity ID (UEI). Business Size Status and any applicable socio-economic categories under NAICS 339113 (e.g., Small Business, 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, Women-Owned Small Business, etc.). Statement of Capability: A narrative demonstrating the company's technical ability to meet or exceed the specific technical requirements outlined in Section 2. Past Performance: Information on past performance with similar projects, highlighting experience in delivering deployable, containerized medical or mortuary facilities. Responses and/or clarification(s) can be sent to 2Lt Jonathan Goodwin (jonathan.goodwin@us.af.mil) and 2Lt Travis Ambrose (travis.ambrose.1@us.af.mil). Disclaimer: This Sources Sought notice is issued solely for information and market research planning purposes and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future.
