Engineering Consulting Services, Trails Management and Implementation Strategy - Castle Provincial Park & Castle Wildlands Provincial Park
Forestry and Parks
Description
Castle Provincial Park and Castle Wildland Provincial Park contain an extensive and diverse trail network supporting a wide range of recreation opportunities, on designated routes. The trail system is a significant recreation asset within the parks and plays an important role in supporting visitor access, recreation experiences, tourism opportunities, operational activities, and stewardship objectives. Over time, portions of the trail network have developed through a combination of formal planning, operational requirements, historical access patterns, and user-created routes. The resulting network varies considerably in terms of purpose, condition, sustainability, maintenance requirements, user experience, environmental performance, and long-term management suitability. The Province is currently undertaking several complementary planning initiatives within Castle Provincial Park and Castle Wildland Provincial Park, including a Facility Master Plan (FMP) and a Campground Infrastructure Development Plan (IDP). These projects are intended to establish a coordinated long-term vision for recreation infrastructure, visitor experiences, and capital investment throughout the parks. The Province has identified the need for a comprehensive assessment and management framework for the existing trail network to support future planning and implementation decisions. The work will establish trail management objectives, evaluate existing trail conditions and network performance, identify opportunities and constraints, assess sustainability considerations, and develop a prioritized implementation strategy for future trail improvements and investments. The purpose of this RFP is to invite Proposals from suitably qualified Proponents who demonstrate sufficient experience and qualifications to provide trail planning, recreation planning, trail assessment, trail management, and implementation planning services for Castle Provincial Park and Castle Wildland Provincial Park. Refer to the RFP document for additional information and complete scope of work.
