Brookside Golf Course Management & Operation

The Rose Bowl Operating Company (“RBOC”) is seeking proposals from qualified golf management companies and/or professional restaurant and catering companies to enter into a management agreement with the RBOC for the management and operation of Brookside at the Rose Bowl. The Brookside complex is owned by the City of Pasadena and operated under the direction of the RBOC. Features of the property include two 18-hole courses - the C.W. Koiner Course, a par 72 measuring 7,104 yards, and the E.O. Nay Course, a par 70 measuring 6,025 yards – as well as a public driving range, hitting area reserved for instructional and programming services (operated by others); a 35,000 square foot clubhouse inclusive of a pro shop, bar and restaurant, covered outdoor dining patio, banquet and meeting room spaces, offices, and an indoor golf cart storage area. The RBOC will be conducting a comprehensive interview and evaluation process of the submittals received from interested parties to determine the highest rated and most qualified firm(s) which will be recommended forward to the RBOC Board of Directors for award of contract(s) for the management and operation of Brookside at the Rose Bowl and its components. Interested parties may respond to all three components or any component thereof. Qualified entities may respond as an individual firm or joint venture of individual firms. The three components include: 1) golf course management and operation, 2) food and beverage management and operation, 3) family golf management and operation. Respondents must demonstrate substantial experience in the operation and maintenance of public golf courses, food and beverage operations. It is the RBOC’s intent to complete the evaluation process and determine the recommended firm by May 2024. The awarded firm shall expect to commence services on July 1, 2024. Respondents may propose a minimum term of ten (10) years and the term may range between ten (10) to twenty (20) years. Maximum term shall terminate on June 30, 2044.
