Annual Fire Sprinkler Riser Inspection and Maintenance services

All bidders must be certified by the State of Florida and/or the NFPA to perform all the inspection services listed in these specifications. Any vendor who cannot perform all services listed may subcontract only one of the listed services to a licensed contractor in that field. All Fire Alarm Maintenance and Inspection Requirements. Contractors shall be governed by the general requirements of the NFPA 72 fire alarm code for maintenance of the fire alarm systems. The requirements for testing, inspecting and maintaining fire detection devices and panels associated with the fire alarm system shall also be bid to meet the requirements of the NFPA 72 fire alarm code. The Library District’s equipment, such as the linear beam smoke detectors, are not directly mentioned in the NFPA 72 documents; however, they must inspect and maintain all Library District’s fire alarm equipment and units and conduct tests by the vendor, according to the manufacturer's operation and maintenance manuals. Operation and maintenance manuals will be available for review upon request. The contractor shall maintain and keep current all records of maintenance and testing. Contractor will provide all records of testing and maintenance upon request by the Library District. Automatic sprinkler systems shall be inspected, tested and maintained according to NFPA 13 code and manuals. As stated above, the NFPA 13 documents may not directly mention the type of equipment located in the libraries; however, all of the library's sprinkler equipment and units must be inspected, maintained, and tested by the vendor, according to the manufacturer's operation and maintenance manuals. Operation and maintenance manuals will be available upon request. The 5th year Sprinkler Inspection, Test and Maintenance Service will be required by the NFPA 13 for the sprinkler system at the Headquarters Library, Millhopper and Tower Road Branch. The inspection, test and maintenance shall cover the following services: alarm valves (internal), strainers, filters (internal), gauges (replace), underground piping flow, standpipe flow, high temperature sprinklers (solder type) and system flushing.
