23-SQ-67IF: Professional Engineering Services for the Offloading of Rattlesnake Island

The County of Volusia is seeking the services of professional consultants to design, permit and provide environmental oversight and compliance with turtle monitoring and relocation, bid administration, and construction administration services for the on-beach placement of material located in the Florida Inland Navigation District’s (FIND) Dredged Material Management Area (DMMA) MSA-434S (also known as Rattlesnake Island) with an estimated 600,000 cubic yards of beach compatible sand. The County has not determined at this time the location where the sand will be placed or the profile at which the sand will be placed. The awarded firm shall comply with any agreements with Florida Inland Navigational District (FIND) and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). Respondents shall note there is an urgency to have this sand placed on the beach as soon as possible due to recent damages sustained as part of Hurricanes Ian and Nicole.
