Taxiway E & F Rehabilitation and Related Improvements at MCO - Phase I (BP-00514)
goaa / Planning, Engineering and Construction
Description
Originally placed into service in 1989, Taxiways E and F function as vital cross‑field parallel taxiways centrally located within the airfield, providing a primary connection between the East and West Airfields at Orlando International Airport. The project includes comprehensive rehabilitation to restore pavement performance, improve infrastructure, and ensure continued compliance with current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) design and safety standards. Construction activities will include milling and overlaying the existing asphalt pavement, removal and replacement of designated concrete slabs, and rehabilitation of the taxiway shoulders. The project also incorporates installation of new electrical ductbank infrastructure to support airfield lighting and navigational aids, as well as drainage improvements to enhance stormwater conveyance and maintain compliance with FAA and airport requirements. Additional upgrades will address taxiway geometry, safety areas, pavement markings, lighting, and signage to fully align with the FAA’s current standards and ensure safe, efficient, and reliable aircraft operations well into the future. The Procurement Services Point of Contact is: Kerry Gray-Brown, Sr. Procurement Agent, Capital Programs, kerry.gray-brown@goaa.org.
