Operation and Maintenance of Solid Waste Management Facilities for Nantucket Island

The Town of Nantucket (hereinafter "Town") is issuing this Request for Proposal (hereinafter "RFP") per M.G.L. Chapter 30B. The RFP solicits responses from vendors (hereinafter "Offerors") seeking to manage municipal solid waste (MSW) and other solid wastes delivered to the Town-owned site located at 188 Madaket Road (the Site) by operating Town facilities and systems, diverting materials to recover useful materials and products, and managing residuals. The RFP seeks proposals to provide the Services for a 10-year initial term starting on December 1, 2025, with renewal options of up to three additional five-year terms. The Offeror would succeed the existing contract operator, whose contract is scheduled to expire on November 30, 2025. The Offerer will need to coordinate with the Town and the existing operator to assure a seamless transition for managing Nantucket’s solid waste.
