Seismic Retrofit of Public Works Building at City Yards

Description
The City of Pasadena (“City”) will select a single qualified Contractor to perform seismic retrofit and minor ADA improvements of the Public Works Administration Building at city yards located at 233 W. Mountain St. The scope of the seismic retrofit includes, but is not limited to, the following items: removal of finishes along the perimeter of interior roof and floor to expose wall connections and retrofit as necessary; install additional anchor bolts to tie the roof and floor diaphragms to the tilt-up wall panels; reinforce/strengthen diaphragm ties/chord and boundary elements; and provide additional seismic bracing to critical rooftop HVAC components and strengthening of its supporting roof framing. Additionally, there are various architectural renovations to the 2nd floor kitchen, 1st floor breakroom, and parking lot for ADA improvements and associated re-roofing and carpentry as a result of retrofit work. Contractor shall also provide support in temporary relocation of a number of City staff work stations/furniture prior to work commencing and construction work hours shall begin and finish outside of normal business hours. This project is funded by Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) funds and American Resue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. Contractor is required to comply with all necessary reporting procedures as outlined in the granting agency guidelines. The Contractor receiving award of the Contract will be required to coordinate its activities with the City’s Representative regarding ongoing operations and programs on the sites and access for utility connections.
