Project Management Support Services for the West of Bayshore Improvements Project

The Airport owns and maintains 180 acres of property west of U.S. Highway 101. The property conveys stormwater from the adjacent municipalities to the San Francisco Bay. The maintenance is regulated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. The West of Bayshore Improvements Project (“Project”) includes the following scope: Access Road Restoration: roads adjacent to canals, ditches, wetland areas, and underground utilities. Non-native Tree Removal: trees impacting adjacent infrastructure and impeding maintenance. Firebreak Clearing: creating open, defensible space on the property's perimeter that borders neighboring homes. Canal Dredging: restoration of open water habitat in South Lomita Canal, Cupid Row Canal, San Felipe Canal, and other smaller drainage ditches and outlets. Access control for security, fencing, signage, and monitoring. Vegetation control and native vegetation restoration. Sediment Trap Maintenance: removal of accumulated sediment in existing traps. The Airport and Project Team will define each year’s scope of work by March 1st of each year. Annual work is restricted to June 15th through October 15th for upland areas and August 15th through October 15 th for canal work below the top of the canal bank. Firebreak clearing is restricted to May 1 st through July 1 st . The Contractor shall provide PMSS to support the Project as described in Appendix B, Scope of Services.
