Washington County Board of Commissioners Goal Setting Session

Washington County has an urgent need to understand and prioritize Board goals for the community. Its community needs have changed, and the organization has a constrained budget. Washington County’s strategic plan is more than 30 years old. While the Board of County Commissioners has directed staff to develop a comprehensive strategic plan and strategic planning program, they also recognize that it will be a lengthy process. An as interim step, the Board has directed staff to engage a consultant to work with the Board in developing an initial set of goals, strategies, and actions that will meet the following objectives: Provide clarity and prioritization for the organization, assist the organization in understanding and aligning the Board’s highest prioritie, and make the Board’s goals transparent to the community.
