Description
(1) Vendor needs to provide professional translation and interpretation services.• Provide professional language interpretation and translation services for its training courses, meetings, events, and related educational materials1) In–Person Interpretation• American Sign Language (ASL) Interpretation• ASL Tactile / ProTactile Interpretation (for DeafBlind participants)• Puerto Rico Sign Language (PRSL)• Spanish Language Interpretation (simultaneous and/or consecutive)• Other spoken language interpretation — including but not limited to Mandarin, Cantonese,Vietnamese, Korean, and other languages upon request• Interpretation settings include large plenary/auditorium sessions, smaller classroom sessions,facilitated small group activities, and informal networking periods• Document & Materials Translation– Written translation services are needed on a project basis to localize participant–facing trainingmaterials, registration forms, event communications, signage, and other content. Spanish is theprimary language of need; other languages may be requested• Review and/or editing of Translated Materials– Agency uses internal staff translators and AI translation tools for materials translation. On occasion,there is a need for a third–party, human quality review of translated materials1) ASL Interpretation– Interpreters must hold active professional certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) — such as the National Interpreter Certification (NIC) or Certificate of Interpretation (CI/CT) — or an equivalent recognized credential2) ASL Tactile / ProTactile Interpretation– This is a highly specialized service. In addition to RID certification, interpreters must havedocumented training and demonstrated experience in Tactile ASL and/or ProTactile methodology.– Vendors should be candid about the size of their available tactile interpreter pool, typical lead timeneeded to confirm assignments, and any geographic limitations(2) The contract period will be for one year.
