Description
The City of Tucson is seeking a qualified consultant support for the planning and design to convert 18 existing signalized locations from permissive protected (left turn on green ball) to flashing yellow arrow (FYA) operation by removal of existing signal heads and replacement with new heads that display flashing yellow arrow AND the planning and design services to redesign left turn lanes to provide positive left turn offsets (PO) by removing and/or reconfiguring adjacent medians and/or lanes. Traffic signal modifications to reconstruct signal, poles, arms and displays from permissive/protected left turn operation to flashing yellow arrow displays. Locations are four existing signalized intersections. There will be separate evaluations and awards for each task, Flashing Yellow Arrow (FYA) & Positive Offset (PO). This is a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) funded project. Any resulting contract will contain the FHWA Terms and Conditions contained herein.
