HSIP SR REGIONWIDE PASSING ZONES INVENTORY AND RESTRIPING

This project will address passing zones installed throughout SR Region along two-way, two lane highways with posted speeds of 40miles per hour or higher, have a published AADT between 500 and 6000, and are a mile or greater in length, To correct any deficiencies in passing zones a detailed inventory and restriping plan will need to consider. First, at locations where minimun passing sight distance is not available if there are obstruction can they be removed otherwise identify the extents of where the passing zones should begin and end. Second, that no-passing and passing zones meet minimum lengths for the roadway speed. After solutions are identified the project will obliterate and restripe any passing or no-passing zones that are found to be deficient.
