The Orange County Sanitation District (OC San) is a public agency that provides wastewater collection, treatment, and recycling for approximately 2.6 million people in central and northwest Orange County. OC San is a special district, governed by a Board of Directors consisting of 25 board members appointed from 20 cities, two sanitary districts, two water districts and one representative from the Orange County Board of Supervisors. Our facilities include 396 miles of sewer pipes, located throughout the county, and two treatment plants – one in Fountain Valley, CA and the other in Huntington Beach, CA – where wastewater is treated in accordance with strict state and federal standards. Our mission: “To protect public health and the environment by providing effective wastewater collection, treatment, and recycling.”
