2026 Community Development Block Grant - Public Facilities
piercecountywa / Human Services
Description
Pierce County Human Services is soliciting applications for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Public Facilities projects that benefit low-income communities and/or low-income people. The goal of the CDBG program is to support sustainable urban communities by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanding economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income households. To qualify for funding under the CDBG Public Facilities Program, a proposal must satisfy two core criteria: It must benefit primarily low- and moderate-income individuals. It must involve an activity that is eligible under CDBG regulations. CDBG funds may be used for housing, public facilities, public improvements, and community facility activities that improve living conditions in low-income areas or for low-income Pierce County residents. Public Facilities Projects must involve either a) publicly owned facilities or facilities and improvements traditionally provided by the government or b) owned by a nonprofit organization. This is for CDBG program year 2026 (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027). Priority will be given to agencies requesting two-hundred fifty thousand ($250,000) or more. It is anticipated that no more than four projects shall be awarded funds.
