Description
The Jersey City Public School District is soliciting proposals from qualified consultants to support student development of the nonpublic students by providing School Health Services to nonpublic schools within their school district boundaries in keeping with N.J.A.C. 6A:16, for Nursing Services under Chapter 226. Nursing services must be performed by a professional registered nurse licensed in the State of New Jersey who also holds a New Jersey School Nurse certificate. The Jersey City Public School District under N.J.A.C. 6A:16 -2.5. has the responsibility of providing nursing services to nonpublic schools within their school district boundaries enrolled full-time in nonpublic schools pursuant to under N.J.S.A. 18A: 40- 22 et seq. Funds are allocated by the New Jersey State Department of Education based upon the nonpublic school enrollment on the last school day prior to October 16 of the previous school year. After consultation with administration from the nonpublic schools, it was determined that basic health services are provided and the extension of emergency care for nonpublic school students who are full time and are injured or become ill at school. The Jersey City Public School District is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to support student development of the nonpublic students by providing School Health Services to nonpublic schools within their school district boundaries using professional nurses licensed in the State of New Jersey who also holds a New Jersey School Nurse certificate. The health services provided to the nonpublic schools will include at a minimum the following required services: Assistance with Medical Examinations Including Dental Screenings; Screening of Hearing; Screening of Vision; Maintenance of Student Health Records; Immunization Record Review; Notification of local or county health officials of any student who has not been properly immunized; Scoliosis examinations of students between the ages of 10 and 18; Emergency Care for students injured or become ill at school. Certified Replacement nurse within 5-7 days of assigned nurse’s absent so that there is NO INTERRUPTION IN SERVICE.
