9158 Utility and Tunnel Rehabilitation - Shatzel to Moseley

Bid # 9158 This work will occur within an active area of the BGSU campus and within existing utility tunnels serving occupied campus facilities. Isolation of the work zone from the public is required, and the Contractor shall maintain safe pedestrian and vehicular access throughout construction. The work includes the extension of approximately 300 linear feet of 8-inch and 6-inch waterline east of Lot 7A, routing the new waterline through the Shatzel Tunnel and reconnecting to an existing 6-inch waterline within the tunnel system. Additional work includes waterline replacement within the existing tunnels at the tie-in locations, selective demolition and rehabilitation of tunnel roof and wall sections, temporary support of existing utilities, tunnel waterproofing, removal and replacement of piping insulation and protective jacketing as required, and associated excavation, dewatering, backfill, and utility protection measures. Sidewalks, pavement, landscaping, seeding, and other disturbed site features shall be restored upon completion of the work. The Contractor will be required to provide a detailed sequencing and outage plan to minimize the number, duration, and impact of waterline and utility service interruptions and to coordinate all work with university operations.
