DE Benton WTP GAC Filter Media Replacement

The City of Raleigh Public Utilities Department, Dempsey E. Benton Water Treatment Plant plans to replace Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) media in 4 sets of filters. GAC filters 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, 4A, and 4B require media replacement which has been in service for 9 years. (8 total filter tubs, 880 ft3 of media per filter tub, 7,040 total ft3). The contractor shall be responsible for the installation and proper disposal of the old media removed from the filters.
