Air Ionizers on Light Rail Vehicles and Streetcars - Request for Information

Valley Metro Rail, Inc. (the “Agency”) is seeking information from interested parties who can provide air ionizers to help reduce odors and purify the air quality inside the Agency's fleet of 74 light rail vehicles and six streetcars. The ionizers should work to help purify formaldehyde, benzene, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the air. In summary, the Agency would like to have potential systems rid the interior atmosphere of our light rail vehicles and streetcars of smoke, dust, pollutants, and other respiratory irritants. The Agency is interested in receiving a wide range of information to understand what is available in the market, the extent to which goods, services, and technology are available separately or in an integrated solution, and experience and best practices in the industry. Submittals are welcome even if the proposed goods or services meet only one or more of the described goods and services. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes – it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), an Invitation for Bid (IFB), or a promise to issue an RFP or IFB in the future. This request for information does not commit the Agency to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Any and all costs associated with or arising from the RFI process incurred by the Interested Party shall be absorbed by the Interested Party, without reimbursement by the Agency.
