Onboard Ridership Survey RFP

The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) is seeking the services of a professional consulting firm to conduct the agency’s first Countywide on-board ridership survey for our service areas of Lucas and Wood Counties. Note that TARTA is requesting this ridership survey to affirm our ridership numbers using Automated Passenger Counters (APC) and bus operator manual counts. Also, this ridership survey will include rider demographics, origin/destination, transfers, rider travel patterns, rider preference for receiving TARTA information, and any other transit or travel related information. All data collected as part of this process will be applied and used to update the transit components of TARTA and Lucas County Activity Based Model (ABM) and to improve ridership forecast. Also, TARTA will use this data for NTD (National Transit Database) reporting purposes relating to Title VI federal laws affecting service frequency, content, and survey delivery. It will be used to gage the impact of our Comprehensive Operational Analysis (COA) and service changes implemented by the agency and will assist TARTA plan for future service and service adjustments by incorporating information gathered as part of this process.
