Description
This project will provide GRU with the additional flow capacity required to accommodate upcoming development projects and will also address the issues associated with pipe degradation along this alignment. The replacement gravity sewer main will be 24” in diameter and will be replaced with a PVC pipe. The overall project length is roughly 2,500 feet of new gravity sewer main and will include two trenchless jack and bore pipe crossings under existing Alachua county roadways. The existing 16” ductile iron main will either be removed or abandoned/grouted in place . The proposed gravity sewer main will be designed all the way to the existing Lift Station 21. GRU will be entertaining bids through a Design-Bid-Build procurement process for the construction of the new 24-inch diameter PVC gravity sewer main parallel to an existing 16-inch GM on Ft. Clarke Blvd from NW 23 rd Ave south to NW 15 th Place into a GRU lift station.
