First 5 Sacramento Child Care Quality Supports

Focus of Funding: Eligibility to Apply: This Request for Applications (RFA) invites agencies who hold contracts with First 5 California, California Department of Education, and California Department of Social Services to deliver the Quality Counts California (QCC) project in Sacramento County to apply to offer services that support quality in early childhood settings, as described below. Priority: Quality Child Care Strategy: Short- and long-term support for child care providers, including behavioral consultations, to grow their expertise. Services focused on marginalized populations, including monolingual child care providers and those serving unhoused and low-income families, and/or serving children with special needs in inclusive settings. Primary Population: Family child care providers and private child care centers who serve children ages 0 to 5 in low-income families who are not already deeply engaged in quality improvement programming; child care providers who serve children with special needs in inclusive settings; may include Family-Friend-and-Neighbor (FFN) providers. Requirements: Our intent is that this program offer a mix of short- and long-term support for enhancing quality child care, focused on providers who have not engaged deeply in quality improvement work, meaning that this program will not duplicate services already being provided (if a provider is already receiving coaching, consultation, or is working on goal setting/improvement plan, they would not be eligible for this program).
