Long Duration Energy Storage

The City of Pasadena (City) is striving towards achieving carbon-free electricity and recognizes the importance of innovative energy solutions in this endeavor. Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES) system, which offers at least 10 hours of storage capacity, are becoming increasingly important in enhancing grid reliability and integrating renewable energy sources. This Request for Information (RFI) aims to gather insights from a broad range of stakeholders – including industry experts, academia, research laboratories, and government agencies – about existing and evolving LDES technologies. The information collected will support the City in understanding the current landscape and potential advancements in this field. Participation in this RFI will not positively or negatively impact the City’s consideration of any future procurements related to this effort. Information submitted in response to this RFI is considered public information.
