Description
Project Narrative: The Pensacola Living Shoreline Project consists of the construction of multi-site shoreline in District 2 of Escambia County, Florida. The project will be bid as two separate construction projects. The first project Site A (White Island), located near the entrance to Bayou Grande along the Western shore of Pensacola Bay, requires an estimate of 24,000 tons of rock, and 370,000 cubic yards of sand to be installed, and 60 acres of habitat to be restored. The second project consists of Sites B and C. Site B (Magazine Point or NAS Eastern Shore) located at eastern shore of NAS requires an estimate of 33,000 tons of rock, 175,000 cubic yards of sand to be installed and 65 acres of marsh and submerged aquatic vegetation habitat to be restored. Site C (Sherman Inlet) located at Southern shore of NAS requires an estimate of 57,000 tons of rock and 390,000 cubic yards of sand to be installed and 20 acres of shoreline habitat and 29 acres of submerged aquatic vegetation habitat to be restored. Coordination with NAS will be required of the selected firm.
