Installation of Electrical Connection for Retrofitted Residential City Grinder Control Panels for Low Pressure Pump Systems

Description
For the existing residence, new individual branch circuit wiring shall be installed from the existing electrical distribution equipment (panel) to the control panel. For Low Pressure Grinder Systems the new individual branch circuit wiring shall be a three (3) wire cable and a ground wire and (non- fused, 60 A,) Disconnect Box. Wiring will be a minimum size of #12AWG and shall be protected with a GFCI two-pole-20-amp over current device two hundred thirty (230) volt. For Low Pressure Grinder Systems the new individual branch circuit wiring shall be a two (2) wire cable and a ground wire and (non- fused, 60 A,) Disconnect Box. Wiring will be a minimum size of #12AWG and shall be protected with a GFCI single-pole-20-amp over current device one hundred twenty (120) volt. Pump power minimum wire size 12-gauge copper conductor (75-C). Control circuit minimum wire size 12-gauge copper conductor (75-C). The wire size is based on less than one hundred (100) feet. Acknowledges distance between electrical control box and Low Pressure Grinder Tank will not exceed twenty-five (25) feet. NOTE: As of April 1993, installation requires two (2) separate breakers on same phase in panel box. The exterior weather proof (non- fused, 60 A) Disconnect Box with blank cover and wire shall be forty (40) inches above finished floor and located on the side of the home within five feet of the front corner (same corner as sewer lateral). Height of panel shall be a minimum of three and a half (3 ½) feet or forty-two (42) inches and a maximum of four and a half (4 ½) feet or fifty-four (54) inches. All electrical equipment and installations shall meet the most current adopted edition of the Florida Building Code 2023 and/or National Electrical Code 2023 and all applicable state and local codes and ordinances. The Port St. Lucie Building Department will be inspecting the electrical system to ensure full compliance with the National Electrical Code 2023 and/or the FBC 2023 whichever is more stringent. If an upgrade to the existing service is required and/or the homeowner requests an electrical routing, other than the standard direct route, the additional cost will be paid by the homeowner. If during execution of any portion of the Contract, the Contractor observes an imminent danger involving the electrical system, the Contractor shall immediately notify the homeowner and recommend, in writing, that the homeowner contacts a licensed electrical contractor to remove the danger. Upon receiving a work order from the Utility Department, the Contractor shall give the Utility Department a schedule for installation and completion. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to schedule installation with each individual homeowner, prior to use of the new individual branch circuit wiring. Permits and Inspections - Contractors shall utilize the Owner Permit Acknowledgment and Authorization form as required whenever a request for a building permit is submitted by a contractor, on behalf of the property owner. This form is a legal document and must be completed and notarized prior to permit submittal.
