City of Monterey / Public Works
Description
General work description: The City of Monterey (“City”) is seeking proposals from qualified firms or individuals to conduct a Feasibility Study to determine how the Monterey Public Safety Facility at 351 Madison St. and 600/610 Pacific Street, Monterey, CA 93940, should meet community needs now and through the coming decades. The City is a charter city located in the County of Monterey. The Monterey Public Safety Facility is a single building with three distinct areas. It houses the Monterey Police Department (15,788 sq. ft.), Fire Station #11 (5840 sq. ft.) and the Emergency Operation Center (1300 sq. ft.). The building was initially constructed in 1959 and has seen multiple renovations over the years (1990-91, 2002, 2004, and 2007). In recent years, the City has utilized ‘portable’ office space to accommodate the Police Investigations Division as well as Fire Department Administration staff. Conex boxes are also being utilized at the site to store property and equipment for the Police Department.
