West Basin Municipal Water / Operations - Water Quality
Description
Proposals are being accepted by West Basin Municipal Water District (West Basin), a Municipal Water District, for Project Title . This work is in support of the West Coast Basin Barrier Project (WCBBP), which uses a hydraulic barrier to prevent seawater intrusion into groundwater aquifers. West Basin produces the advanced-treated recycled water that is blended with imported drinking water for use in this hydraulic barrier. This project is governed by several agencies and regulations including the Groundwater Replenishment Regulations for Subsurface Injection (GWRR), the California Recycled Water Policy, and the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board-issued permit (R4-2006-0069). Under these regulations, West Basin is required to monitor water quality at 11 groundwater wells at 8 different locations in the South Bay.
