FUEL TANKS REPLACEMENT PROJECT

Department Name Organization Name ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID Project Title Contract No. B#25-02 Sealed bids are hereby solicited for construction of Project Title located in Herndon, Virginia. The work shall include the following: Proposed closing and abandonment of two existing 10,000-gallon underground fuel tanks, and installation of two new 12,000-gallon above ground fuel tanks with fully operational systems at the Town Shop facility located at 1479 Sterling Road. The work shall also include the removal and replacement of the existing concrete fuel island leaving the existing steel columns and canopy in place. The existing fuel dispensers are also to be removed and replaced with new dual hose fuel dispensers while the fuel management system is to be temporarily removed and reinstalled. The contractor shall plan the work and schedule to minimize the time between the transfer from the existing tanks and systems to the new tanks and systems . The contractor is required to coordinate construction with the Town representative prior to the start of any work, so as to minimize impact on ongoing Town operations. The contractor’s baseline schedule must account for long lead times, as extended durations of inactivity will not be acceptable. This is a lump sum contract. Contract length is 90 calendar days to date of Substantial Completion.
