The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office (RSO), Corrections Division, utilizes Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) equipment to safeguard personnel operating within high-risk, toxic, and hazardous custody environments. To ensure strict operational safety and full compliance with state and federal regulations, these high-pressure life-safety cylinders require specialized recurring structural inspection, hydrostatic safety re-qualification, and professional component replacement when needed. The purpose of this request is to secure certified, on-site mobile testing services to minimize equipment turnaround times, avoid station shortfalls, and ensure continuous mission readiness at each detention facility. Due to the critical nature, the equipment requires consistent professional maintenance, periodic testing, and manufacturer-compliant servicing to ensure safe operation and regulatory compliance. SCBA cylinders must undergo hydrostatic testing, performance inspections, and component servicing in accordance with OSHA, NFPA, and DOT standards. Training is also an essential component for SCBA equipment. Staff must remain proficient in proper operation, inspection, deployment, and handling to ensure equipment is used safely and effectively.
