Garland Ranch Regional Park Fuel Mitigation Project

The Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District (MPRPD) is seeking a specialized contractor to conduct fuel reduction, eucalyptus tree removal, and other invasive species removal treatments at Garland Ranch Regional Park, consistent with the California Vegetation Treatment Program developed by the Board of Forestry and Fire Protection ( https://bof.fire.ca.gov/projects-and-programs/calvtp-homepage-and-storymap/ ), for a fire fuels reduction project located in Carmel Valley, California. Work will begin as soon as it is feasible after a contract is awarded. Funding for this work comes from a State Coastal Conservancy Wildfire Resilience Grant awarded to MPRPD. The Garland Ranch Regional Park Fuel Management Project is a hazardous fuel reduction project targeting thinning and removal of eucalyptus trees within a 12.2-acre area Work will occur adjacent to publicly accessible trails, nearby private residential areas, and sensitive environmental areas in including the Carmel River Riparian Corridor. The goals of this project are to reduce fuel hazards, remove invasive non-native plant species, and increase forest and vegetation community health and resilience.
