Vendor needs to provide syphilis support service to the government authority located in MS. – Implementing syphilis screening in the agency is to interrupt the transmission of the disease and prevent its long–term, potentially fatal, consequences.• Early diagnosis and treatment: Early detection allows for prompt treatment with penicillin, which can cure the infection and prevent irreversible damage to organs like the brain and heart.• Preventing congenital syphilis: Screening in the agency, especially among pregnant individuals or those who may become pregnant, is a critical strategy to prevent the transmission of syphilis from parent to fetus, which can cause severe illness, stillbirth, or infant death.• Public health reach: By identifying asymptomatic cases, agency screening programs act as a vital public health tool, reaching individuals who may not be aware of their infection, risk factors and providing treatment.• Interrupt transmission and prevent complications: By diagnosing and treating infections earlier, the programs aim to stop the onward transmission of syphilis and prevent severe long–term complications, such as organ damage and adverse pregnancy outcomes (congenital syphilis).• Linkage to care: To successfully connect diagnosed individuals with necessary follow–up care, including treatment, partner notification services, primary care, prenatal care, and HIV prevention services like pre–exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).• Promote health equity: To address health disparities by focusing efforts on communities disproportionately affected by the syphilis epidemic using person–centered approaches like opt–out screening.
