La ejecución de horas máquinas consiste en realizar el retiro y transporte de material fluvial y vegetal acumulado en la parte central de la caja del cauce, lo cual, está generando desvío de las aguas a través de predio particular, dividiendo éste en dos. El propósito del servicio contratado, es regresar el grueso del caudal del río a su estado original de circulación hacia su desembocadura encuentro con el río Palena, y a su vez, proteger las riberas afectadas por la erosión.
